Matthew Curry

A great night of good friends and good music. Matthew Curry is an excellent musician. We love his blues. He has also added a little bluegrass, as well as rock to his sets. This was our first time at the venue. The staff was great. The atmosphere was more of a coffee house feel.

As much as I LOVE Matthew Curry when he has his full band and the powerful original compositions and tightness of the band; when we see him perform many of the same songs solo, he makes us forget the band. We can hear in his voice the emotion that comes from the lyrics from him to us. The intimacy of his solo performances is wonderful.

Here are a few videos I took last night in Long Beach, California. This kid just plain rips! He can play Hendrix, SRV, Dickey Betts and just about anyone he wants to. However, he played two hours of his own original material and it was all outstanding.
