About The Good Host

Originally an eight-piece alternative folk ensemble, The Good Host has evolved into a powerful and dynamic alternative rock and roll band without losing their signature three-part harmonies and rich, catchy melodies. Now a four-piece, their sound has never been sharper, with live shows that burst with originality and quality. The Liverpool based bands ability to blend intricate melodies with driving rhythms and heartfelt lyrics makes them stand out in the crowded music scene. With songs of love, life and death, their music offers an honest look at the human condition, delivered with hooks, grooves and a palpable passion.

With lead singer Jason Baxter’s distinctive and impressive vocals and Matthew McGurty’s Clapton-esque guitar style and soulful keys, The Good Host creates a sonic landscape that is both expansive and intimate. The rhythm section of bassist Tony Ferguson and drummer Simon Cooke brings a wealth of experience to the band, having individually played at prestigious festivals like Glastonbury, V Festival and Summersonic in Japan to name but a few.

The Good Hosts journey as a band and as friends has resulted in a massive back catalogue of fantastic songs, each one a testament to their growth and dedication as artists. Now, they are finally ready to share these musical treasures with the world, bringing their unique blend of lyrical depth and high quality musicianship to a broader audience. The Good Host is here to welcome you into their world.
