The Empty Pockets

Great show. We saw the Empty Pockets earlier this year with Al Stewart and wanted see them when they returned on their own. They did not disappoint! Very nice meet-and-greet after the show, as well. ---Bill and Tammy Kent, OH

This was an absolutely fantastic show! High energy, great sound, wonderful mix of holiday songs and originals. Just loved it and will see them again. The Parkway Theater is awesome - leg room galore!!!

Finally, after listening to them for a few years- a chance to see them. Erica could sing the phone book and sound amazing! Josh is really good, too- vocally and on the guitar. All of them together- they are infectious! Can't wait to see them again. Come back soon

What a fantastic show! Space is a fun, cozy place to watch a show, and The Empty Pockets perform better and better every time I see and hear them; whether playing original songs or covers, I am always awed by them.

I went to see the Empty Pockets and remembered how much I had like Al Stewart back in my youth. The entire show was great. The Empty Pockets is a great front band and maybe the best backup band to ever play with Al.

This is the 5th time that I have seen The Empty Pockets. They never disappoint the audience with their fantastic songs, great stage presence and musiclal abilities. It is refreshing in this day and age to see a band who cares about their craft and audience so much. They are also incrediably decent people and seems to enjoy what they do. Great show !!

Really enjoyed getting to see Empty Pockets a solo act. I had previously seen them twice before as the awesome Band that plays with Al Stewart of "Year of the Cat Fame". Empty Pockets is a Band from Chicago with Blues/Rock Sounds, but doing all original songs, except for a Beatles song as a tribute to the Beatles as they got to record an Album at Abbey Road Studios. The band is solid with an additional Sax/Flute player. Their lead guitarist / vocals, is incredible, blows me away at every performance. His wife plays keyboards and has a beautiful voice, strong and deep. They put on an outstanding two hour show with no breaks in Tiverton, RI, a show that was free to the public due to several Summer Sponsors. They also absolutely nail all the songs done with Al Stewart. That is a great show to see, and Al Stewart still has it, great voice, and something even way better, the "icing on the cake" an amazing story teller about his life and music, the best I have ever heard from any other Artist. I picked up their new 2 CD Live with Al Stewart, actually listening to it as I write this. Oh awesome BTW, very nice reenactment of their live shows. Highly recommended!!! Linwood Straight

A group of talented musicians who play a wide range of styles. I particularly like their new number "Shocked by an Electrician" and when then got into some of rock and blues roots numbers. As the the back up band to Al Stewart? Amazing. They breathed new life into some great old tunes. Two stand-outs from the set for me were "On the Border" and "Modern Times". Again, the guitarist displaying a depth and range of playing that made the night special.

All their shows are great? Looking forward to another one this month in King of Prussia,PA.

The Empty Pockets have a fabulous smooth sound and wonderful chemistry. We enjoyed the show thoroughly and only wish they’d stayed to play another set (or three!). We’ll definitely go see them again when they’re next in town.

This long-anticipated/delayed by Covid concert finally took place at the beautiful Center for the Arts venue in Natick, the perfect location for this Al Stewart/Empty pockets collaboration. And boy, the wait was well worth it as we witnessed a well-received opening set featuring the Empty Pockets, a brief intermission, and then a nearly two-hour-long closing set featuring the truly outstanding performance of Al Stewart, highlighted by his compelling story-telling and outstanding delivery of many of his many major hits. The man has still got it! The integration of the backup Empty Pockets with the star of the show was truly remarkable, a match made in heaven. To say that the aggregation was "tight" would be a major understatement. And then when they added in a brilliant harmonica, flute, and saxophone virtuoso performance the sell-out and wildly enthusiastic crowd was on its feet. This was a class act from start to finish, where Al Stewart took the time to introduce each member of the Empty Pockets, allowing them to leave the stage one at a time to thunderous applause, after finishing the performance of the Al Stewart hit "The Year of the Cat", only to be all called back to the stage for an encore by the crowd which simply did not want to see the night end.

What a great night! The Empty Pockets are an awesome live music experience! High energy music that’s as pure and spot on as their recordings. They’ve got such a cool rock/folk/alt sound...don’t miss this group! Introducing some really great new music right now - can’t wait for a new album! Only negative for the night...I wanted more!!

The (multi-talented) Empty Pockets, always upbeat and gracious, always put on a fabulous show and Saturday afternoon at Space was no exception. Love that band!
