Since he was young, bigtunez knew he was destined to spin records, "I just loved listening to dj's that could mix it up...ever since seeing Jazzy Jeff get down on the Fresh Fest I was hooked!" He eventually saved up enough to get his own set-up and got to work on perfecting his craft. Gaining his inspirations from legends such as Jay Master Jay, Jazzy Jeff, Starchild and dj AM. He supports djing as an art that involves more than simply playing music. Bigtunez is an innovator that can bring a show to any venue, underground or commercial. Dj bigtunez span from several backgrounds and can play a diverse mix of music from House, Electro, Mash-Ups, Funky House, Dub step, R&B and Hip-Hop 70's,80's,90's funk, disco, Soca and Reggae/Dancehall, Club Classics. Based in London but hailing straight out of Trinidad and Tobago, dj bigtunez is not average Trini/West Indian dj you won't catch him at any soca raves across the UK although his love for soca music in undying and started off deejaying and promoting his own soca events when he first came to London in 1999 with All Trini Crew Promotions. However you can catch him in London's buzzing West End world famous for it's night life and theatre production with a weekly and weekend residency for the last three years. He say in his own words " London's west end night club scene is probably one of the best in world as London is probably the most cosmopolitan capital in the world and you got thousands of nationalities partying during the week and the weekend." Some would ask why drift away from your roots and love for soca music to playing a eclectic mix of music in London's West End. But he says " No no actually I went back to my roots when it comes to deejaying, my dad had a great influence on my musical taste as he would have from Abba to Queen, Al Green, Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, Brothers Johnson, Sparrow and Lord Kitchener in his record collection ." He goes on to say " So when I started to deejay in the West End I knew being very versatile was a must I had to know what's popular in all the continents of the world." Venues His deejaying skills has not only taken him to London's buzzing West End but also to other parts of the world where he has been flown out to perform at night clubs like Affinity in Cape Town, South Africa and exclusive private events notably world famous vineyard the Molenvliet Wine & Guest Estate also in Cape Town. In London and across the UK he has done gigs and held residencies at notable venues as well including Kyashii Lounge (now deejays there every fortnight) a venue graced by the likes of Nas, Damian Marley, and the late Amy Winehouse also Jewel Piccadilly, Tiger Tiger, Funky Buddha all renowned celebrity hot spots, Gems lounge and night club, Electric Birdcage, Gilgamesh, Club 10, The very exclusive Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park, Chobham Golf Club and so much more. Promotion Dj bigtunez owns his promotional team called SYNC Parties in which they hold a weekly event called "Let It Go Wednesday" in the West End. The night provides a wide range of music and in his own words the dj's theme is "If you can't blend it you can't West End it" with his amazing dj skills and is definitely a crowd pleaser. At his official parties in London he rotates djs and frequently have in the house dj@war (Bungalow 8,Chinawhite, Priva) Music/Producing Last three years have seen djbigtunez producing his own blend of music by mixing soca music native of his Trinidadian roots with Electro house. The likes of which Electro House producers Afrojack, Chuckie and Diplo are experiencing with at the moment. He has done several mash-ups some which he recorded live in his sets.
