The moment a band and audience clicks together is one of the most exciting things to witness in a live environment. It's a feeling that Charlie Indestructible are getting used to, as anyone that's been to see them in the past few years can attest to. Forming in 2009 and generating no small amount of buzz with their debut EP "My Sweet Revenge", Charlie set about honing their already formidable live show around the country. With a very positive response to the free release of their first album "This City Needs a Hero" the band found themselves looking forward, to the sort of band they wanted to become. Moving away from the Post-Hardcore that dominated their earlier releases, Charlie Indestructible are forming a sound that is unmistakeably their own. "It's not good enough anymore to write the same songs we've been hearing for years," says frontman Mark Sowden. "With every new song we're trying to create something anthemic and uplifting, the sort of songs that can mark out a moment in time, like the best summers and times with our friends. We want people to leave our shows with these songs stuck in their head for weeks," he jokes. One listen to new single "Lights" is proof that this isn't just hyperbole. With a more mature sound and the kind of chorus built for a crowd to sing back, Charlie Indestructible have set out their mission statement with authroity. Not content with doing things by halves, 2014 will see the release of not 1, but 2 EP's from the band. A decision that allows them to keep new music coming to their fans without confining them to the studio all year. Partnering with the JMG Agency, Charlie Indestructible will also be spending a good portion of the year on the road, showing audiences across the country why they've built a reputation as one of the most exciting live acts going today. "In front of a live crowd is where we thrive" says Sowden. We give all we have on stage, and seeing the reactions we get from an audience only pushes us to give even more." With 2014 shaping up to be a very busy year for the band Charlie Indestructible are marking themselves out as an act to watch. “We’ll give the audience every bit of blood sweat and energy we have. And then we’ll give some more.”
