Really great show that was marred initially by a terrible sound system that blasted our ears with a painful and very muffled sound, making it hard to distinguish words. It did improve eventually but my ears have never suffered like that at a concert before. Sound problems aside, Elton was amazing. I was a bit suprised by some of the song choices - "Pinball Wizard" was noticeably missing for example. We were reminded throughout the evening that, apart from Scotland & Glastonbury, this was one of his last ever concerts. Despite a sadness about this, there was a strong sense that we were participating in something historic & I know I'll not forget this wonderful night. The music was amazing and Elton's voice as good and strong, as ever, despite his years. He still knows how to put a show for his fans. Just brilliant.

I was so touched by his genuine farewell. many of his songs took me back to the first time I heard them. Your song, someone change my life tonight, Benny and the Jets and others. This was my third time experiencing Sir Elton in concert, It was especially poignant because my daughter, 41, was with me. She knows all the songs since she grew up with me playing my LP's and she was decked out to the max in sequins. Singing and dancing s/p hip replacement. . When she sat down , I had to say "oh you need a break?" We loved it. Section 2 down in front and totally enjoyed the performance. A few times, tears but mostly pure joy! Today I'm icing my body as I danced all night and need new ones, but nothing could keep me down. Elton, thank you for your incredible talent and sharing it with the world. You have earned a break to spend with your beloved family. I saw you in Sacramento twice and each time was magical. Wishing you well, happiness and joy as you spend time with your family. Your career has been extraordinary. I am inspired to start my 4 year old grand son taking piano lessons. We love you Elton! Thank you with all my ❤️! Louisa Kassinger Sacramento, California

The energy of Ray Cooper was electrifying. He was very entertaining. Loved seeing the band in coat and tie!! Totally unexpected. They also didn’t grandstand and while Davey Johnstone had a few “solos”, they weren’t done to extreme. Sound was worse than I’d expected. Stage was further back in outfield than depicted in Nat’s website diagram. The screens were great size and camera work was phenomenal. Did not care for the videos. Very distracting. Didn’t pay a gob-load of money to watch people dancing or smashing windshields with skateboards. The best footage was of Elton’s hands on the piano keys and of the band when relaxed and not expecting to be on camera. For Elton to play almost 3 hours with only one break is amazing. What a showman! He played a mixture of Top Hits and obscure songs. Since it’s his last tour I’d have preferred more hits, but I get he wants variety. Elton spoke several times. And I felt his words were honest. He thanked the audience/fans several times, acknowledging without them he’d not be the star he is. I don’t know of other bands who feel this way- and would state it. It really impacted me, and made me like him even more. This was my first Elton concert. Not for lack of trying. I paid a lot more for the tickets than I wanted, and I’m 50/50 on the expense being equal to the experience. I’m glad I finally got to one of his concerts, but I think I’d have been satisfied with cheaper seats- and might have even been closer to the stage.

About Elton John

A former student of the Royal Academy of Music in London, England, the man born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in 1947 left school and immediately began his path in the music industry. His first band, Bluesology, was formed in 1961. He would later take his stage name from the Bluesology saxophonist Elton Dean and their charismatic frontman, Long John Baldry. Elton John was introduced to Bernie Taupin in 1967 by Ray Williams at Liberty Records. Amazingly, their first compositions were conducted by mail. In 1968 they became staff songwriters for Dick James' DJM label, farming out music to budding pop stars.
