About Indradevi

Heralded as "richly textured" by the LA Times and deemed "frighteningly psychedelic" by the Phnom Penh Post, Los Angeles dark synth act Indradevi have unleashed their sophomore album "Idols" on Cleopatra Records, furthering their exploration of vocal-driven electronica with a distinct Southeast Asian twist. Indradevi founders Barong and Rangda intertwine Cambodian songwriting sensibilities with a colorful palette of influences, including 1980's action movie scores, industrial rock, drum & bass, and even Indonesian gamelan music. The result is a brooding landscape of soulful synths and melodic gongs, riddled with a hint of menace. Vocalists Sophea Pel and Rumany Long deliver soaring melodies, alternating between English and Khmer, the language of Cambodia.
