About Brittany Bexton

Brittany Bexton was born to sing. Her first performance came at the age of two when she picked up a microphone at a campout and sang for the campers. When she was 7 years old she began learning violin and clarinet but soon realized that her true instrument was her voice. She was the little girl who could always be heard singing a tune or humming a melody. She grew up in the hills of CA and would go on long bike rides, writing songs in her head as she rode. Even though Brittany enjoyed all genres of music, she gained a special love for the singer-songwriters of the 90’s. Artists such as Jewel and Shawn Colvin influenced her early writing because she loved the songs they crafted and the stories they told. At the age of 12, Brittany began taking private vocal lessons and performing in musicals in her hometown. She continued her musical studies through high school, taking every music course she could. She excelled in musical theater as well as concert, jazz and show choirs. She dedicated her days to her musical classes while also taking piano, voice, and dance lessons privately. Her full schedule of musical classes allowed her to graduate high school early and audition for college musical theater programs all over the country. After considering several options, she chose to attend The Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, CA. The two year course included intense training in singing, dancing, and acting. During her time there, she held lead roles in a number of professional shows. After graduation she went straight into a theater contract at The Western Stage, where she held lead roles in Bat Boy the Musical and The Cherry Orchard. She then continued on to perform in Miss Saigon and Hamlet in The SF Bay Area. After a successful year of working as a professional stage actress, she realized theater was not her true calling and left to continue writing songs and focusing on her music career. Although she had always enjoyed a variety of music styles, it was during this time that she really fell in love with country music and knew that was where she belonged. She began singing with multiple country bands in California and eventually started her own act that focused on performing her original music. She also gave back to her hometown community by running a grant program that taught performing arts to underprivileged children. After years in the West Coast music scene, Brittany realized she needed to make a big change to further her career. In October 2011, she picked up her life, packed up her car, and drove cross-country to Music City – Nashville, TN. Soon after arriving, she recorded an original EP and her first single, “Baby Come Back to Bed,” which received some national radio airplay. Over the next 3 years, she began touring the country and sharing her music, while also continuing to write and record new songs. Her most recent single “Free Fall” can be heard on country stations nationwide and overseas. Brittany is currently back in the studio recording songs for her debut CD due out later this year. Although Brittany’s smooth and powerful vocals can be attributed to her years of vocal training, her passion for music and her theater background is what drives the powerful and electric presence she brings to the stage. Whether you are drawn to the way she connects to the message and passion of a song, or the fact she truly knows how to connect to her audience, one thing is for certain; When Brittany Bexton performs, her soul comes shining through.
