TOM WAGNER

As the frontman of newly formed alt-rock band Goodthief in Philadelphia, PA, Tom Wagner is beginning to establish himself in the Northeast music scene. Tom is quickly expanding his songwriting breadth to genres such as pop, indie and blues rock, building on his roots in folk rock and country music.

However, the Rochester, NY native didn’t always have music on his mind. A top of his class at Cornell University, Tom’s plan was clear: graduate, attend medical school and become a doctor. It wasn’t until the summer before his senior year at Cornell that Tom chose to pursue his ever-growing passion.

Picking up piano and guitar at an early age, Tom began writing in his early teens, drawing inspiration from the classics such as The Beatles, James Taylor, and The Who. By his third year of college, Tom had compiled a collection of 50+ songs.

Now, Tom’s focus is on his current project, Goodthief, writing music mainly influenced by the post-Britrock movement. Tom also continues to build his folk rock and country collections, drawing from personal experiences and classic narratives.

Tom's debut demo was released for free streaming on SoundCloud in May 2018.
