The Oldtime Stringband

The Oldtime Stringband The Oldtime Stringband was originally formed as a musical backdrop to a documentary about the cow-painter, Ruud Spil. Both the musicians and the audience enjoyed it so much that the band is now on a stampede. The Oldtime Stringband not only plays Bluegrass and Old-Time music but is also inspired by American folk music from the 1940’s and modern music with an Old-Time feel. In the winter of 2011 they gathered together in the studio to make a live recording. Fun and hard work resulted in producing twelve numbers. Due to the many positive reactions, the band decided to bring the CD “Gotta quit kickin'my dog around”, out. In october 2013 they did a five days engalnd tour and in July 2014 there was a ten days California tour. The second cd "Chicken crows for day" was released in May 2014. The cd had several good reviews on internet in and magazines. The third cd (Cat's Got The Measles) was released in 2016 and got some fine reviews in and outsite the Netherlands. Pleasure in making music together is top priority for all of the members. This feeling has been reinforced after the many and various performances last year.
