Thoughts Are Nuclear

Thoughts are Nuclear is a diverse alt/rock act hailing from Atlanta, GA. It's conception started in 2013 with lead vocalist/guitarist & primary-songwriter, Josh Purgason wanting to bring his acoustic songs to life with a full sound. He immediately recruited life long friend, Matt Hunter on keys/bass & they set out to find a drummer along with a secondary guitarist. The pieces fell into place fairly quickly with the addition of Allen Epperson (drums) & Luke Ethridge (guitar).

The band released a 5 song EP & quickly set out playing shows from hole in the wall establishments to even a shady strip club. The band finally got its chance to perform at the Masquerade in Atlanta with major label acts such as Adelitas Way & Failure Anthem. The band also went on to be featured on ATL's Radio105: Locals Only which led to being a special guest for an event the station hosted.

In 2016 the band went on a hiatus due to internal conflicts. The very end of 2020 led to Thoughts are Nuclear reuniting with a tiny bit of line-up change.

All the original members remained in the reformation minus Luke. A tiny bit of musical chairs took place with Matt Hunter jumping to keys/secondary guitar & recruiting Gordon Edgar on bass. Within the short time of the band being reunited, they've had the opportunity to hit the stage with major recording artists such as: Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Saliva, Rehab & Kingdom Collapse.
