About Modiv

Background Tony Christensen is a unique artist born and raised in the Northwest music scene. Christensen, also known as Modiv (pronounced motive), has been writing lyrics and poetry for most of his life. His music is a reflection of the challenges life has presented and how he overcomes them daily. While his records are fun and easy listening, the deeper messages are heart felt and raw. His music is predominantly hip-hop and rap but he is known to incorporate other genres into his music to keep a fresh sound. The Turning Point After a car accident in early 2015, Modiv was left with a totaled car and injuries sustained to his back and neck. His life had changed. He was visiting doctors for appointments and therapy four times a week for months on end. Modiv realized then just how short life really is. Since then, he decided he would pursue his music professionally and he's never looked back since. Releases While recovering from his injuries, Modiv teamed up with his producer Captain Midnite to start his first EP, Hint of Sanity. The EP was released a little over a year later in July 2016 featuring Kyle Lucas, Captain Midnite and Jordan Dudzic. "More Loans, More Bottles" is a popular genre-bender on Hint of Sanity. The song details the stresses students face in college and addresses the high price of college tuition with a strong grunge-influenced chorus. "Seattle's Sleepless" is another fan favorite from the EP; a summer love song that was accompanied with an official music video for its release. After Hint of Sanity was released, Modiv immediately started working on more music. An electronic/dance inspired single, "YesterBae" was released in September 2016, which was influenced by a trip he took back out to his college hometown one weekend. He currently is working on more singles to be released this year. Venues Played: Beasley Coliseum (WSU - Pullman, WA), Boomer's Garden (Lewiston, ID), Nectar Lounge (Seattle, WA), The Charleston (Bremerton, WA), Del Norte County Fair (Crescent City, CA), Keyportfest (Keyport, WA), Tony V's Garage (Everett, WA), The Jet (Mill Creek, WA) Recent Releases: Hint of Sanity (EP) July 2016, "YesterBae" (Single) September 2016, "You Torture Me" (Single) December 2017, "Out of Control" (Single) February 2017. Future Releases: Working on various singles (produced by Captain Midnite, Randy Ross and others) to be released within the year Press: HipHopDX.com "You have a sound, you have a direction." and "That was some fist-pumping music.", Undercaste Sessions Episode 21 (Seattle, WA), Studio A Featured Artist Performance (Ch. 8 - Pullman, WA), KZUU Interview (90.7 FM - Pullman, WA) For All Inquiries: Kyle@towntalkent.com Social Media: @ModivMusic
