I'd like to give this 5 stars, Jimmy Cliff was excellent as always, as were The Selecter, Aswad, Maxi Priest at al, but the one thing preventing me giving that extra star is the segregated nature of this festival.
You almost felt like a second class citizen, being prevented from getting near the stage by a DOUBLE fence separating the plebs from the VIP area!
I always thought the great thing about festivals was everyone all in it together regardless of background, and isn't equality part of the ethos of reggae? Well at Happy Days it seems you can be a bit more equal if you can afford a VIP ticket!
It was a great day, but seriously that did put a dampener on the atmosphere for me and many others I spoke to, even friends who were lucky enough to have been given VIP tickets said they found it a bit embarrassing and eventually came out and joined us in cattle class!
Full marks to all the bands, not so much to the organizers though, next time ditch the apartheid element and we'll all enjoy it a lot more.

I flew from Philadelphia USA. to London to see this concert. It was worth the trip! The venue was comfortable and roomy. The audience was so friendly and Jimmy Cliff was FANTASTIC!!! His band was fabulous as well. Jimmy opened the show with”Bongo Man” then continued singing all his songs . Everyone in the audience was dancing ; SO fun.I really enjoyed this concert, I’m just sad that he isn’t coming to the USA . Jimmy please come to the East coast in the USA ❤️❤️❤️
