Six Miles Wide

“It’s hard to imagine Six Miles Wide as an acoustic act, given the rock ‘n’ roll beast they are today.” Formed in Pamplona back in 2010, their acoustic beginnings lasted only six songs. Erik Norling and Pedro Granda quickly began to crave something more destructive and, with Mötley Crüe and Buckcherry on their minds, rounded the band out into a five piece. Their debut album, ‘Through The Wild’, arrives on March 7, following a few years spent clawing their way up the ladder. The band released their first EP, ‘Deadly Habits’, back in 2012 and landed a slot opening for Chicago’s the Last Vegas on their Spanish tour. Fast forward two years and it’s clear that Six Miles Wide are no low-rent cock-rock tribute act. Instead, they hitch the grandiose vision of ‘80s metal to a distinctly 21st century sound that nods to everyone from Heaven’s Basement to Santa Cruz. Listening back to their first EP - which, in their own words carries “a more Swedish sleaze sound” - it’s clear that the band, who were all just teenagers when Six Miles Wide formed, have matured. The band’s origins are a far cry from the cash-rich excess of the groups that inspired their sound. Still, the guys in the band insist that social and financial obstacles won’t hold them back. Six Miles Wide have big plans for the rest of 2014, with touring top of their list of priorities. Following the release of ‘Through The Wild’ they hit the road in Spain prior to a few festivals.
