About Moon Safari

-”The world's best dreamers are at it again!” proclaims the guitar pickin' middle brother Åkesson. In between sips of his morning tea he taps the elegantly curved neck of the midnight black Rickenbacker 660/12TP that's resting patiently on his shoulder. -"One thing is certain, we just have to figure out what that one thing is!”, he adds and laughs as if he's just remembered something incredibly satisfying. Retreat. I recognize the smile on his face; It's the smile of someone who's got the answers but is unwilling to share. ”We're in Bergsbyn now, so don't give me that look” is what I imagine him saying next. Here, in Bergsbyn, just outside of reach of the deafening buzz from pop culture, is where Moon Safari creates their music. As they're overlooking the gardens of the snow-ridden lands of their fathers they sing for a world of constant bloom and try for love, two things that never seem to change in the profile of this otherwise very progressive band. I first came into contact with the band at an airport in Brussels almost eight years ago. Upon hearing them sing (as they often do) I offered them the choice of receiving the financial means to live off their music, or to receive a beer each, with nuts to go along. They chose the latter. The guitar pickin' middle brother Åkesson described their surprising choice with a very potent statement that says more about the band than any ten-page rambling from myself ever could: -”Ain't nuttin' in this world more expensive than free” True that, my friend, true that. http://moonsafari.bandcamp.com https://itunes.apple.com/se/artist/moon-safari/id373768090 http://www.amazon.com
