About Eviscerate the Proletariat
Eviscerate the Proletariat, commonly known as simply ETP, is a metal band from the great state of Texas. Having been around for the past few years, the band underwent several lineup changes. Caleb Bonnin (drums), Mike Hernandez (bass) and Danny Dontigney (guitar) have always been the backbone of the group, but in 2012, ETP auditioned Brett Sticker and although several other great vocalists stepped up, it was Brett who immediately had the right chemistry, attitude and drive that made him the man for the job. In September 2013 ETP was again without a second guitarist until long-time friend of the band Sean Causey stepped up and made his presence felt with technical prowess, endless ideas, dedication, and the all-important chemistry. Thus, ETP was whole again. Not wanting to corner themselves into one specific facet of metal music, words commonly used to describe the sound that these 5 musicians make are "fast, aggressive, and brutal with a melodic edge and an ever-present groove". ETP is composed of 5 different musicians who each have their own different tastes in metal music and it really comes across in their songwriting. " We don't want to tie ourselves down into one genre of music and have people expect us to make that same style on every record" says Danny D (guitar). Caleb produces chest thumping percussion in what is a flurry of double bass patterns, complimented with intricate fills. Danny and Sean mesh to provide tag-team guitar duties filled with ear pounding riffs and layered attack. Mike lends a thick and heavy bass line to keep the string work composed and in sync while providing backing vocals, and Brett tops it off with a guttural, rage-filled scream mixed with melodic singing and endless amount of energy. Known for their air-tight, intense live show, ETP is helping grow the Beaumont Metal Scene. "I just feel privileged to be a part of a music community that truly enjoys the music and all of the bands that put in a tremendous amount of hard work to entertain people and put on great shows with awesome musicianship." says Brett (vocals).
