Joyeux

Joyeux is the music of Chicago songwriters Dan Bordonaro and Chase Paul. Natural harmonies and high-running emotions populate indie-folk songs that are polished but vulnerable, and always rewarding. In the softest moments you'd be pressed to hear anything but your own heart beating; when it's loud, you're skin will crawl. The lyrics, sung to hauntingly memorable melody are honest, simple, and rarely metaphorical. At it’s core, Joyeux is dynamic and passionate folk music for the careful listener in all of us. I Am the Sun, the band’s debut LP, releases November 11, 2015, and is the capstone of their writing for the last five years. Recorded by engineer Daniel Escauriza in Chicago, the album features bright performances by several friends including pianist Tommy Trafton, pedal steel guitarist Jeff Lyman, percussionist Matt Margeson, and vocalist Tricia Scully, and is available on 33 RPM vinyl record, CD, and digital download.
