About HuMaN the RoBoT

Human the Robot began in late December of 2011 with Justin Grunow (drums), Chris Webb (guitar), and LC Nordahl (bass). The three started churning out songs that returned to their musical roots, focusing on merging elements of desert folk with synth dance and indie rock in an effort to create organic percussive music soaked in Ether and Ecstasy then dunked in a boiling vat of neon sweat. The group completed ten original songs within a few intensely creative weeks after Kevy Bergman (synth/vocals) joined in January 2012. Four of the songs were recorded at Caballero Studios at the end of February as part of the group’s first EP, Warding Off Sharks With Positive Thoughts, which was released March 19 and is available for download for free at humantherobot.com. The first song off the EP, Echo Canyon, was released on February 23 right before the debut gig at Austin's Scoot Inn. The second single, Moonlight Mountain, dropped March 17 on Austin’s local radio station 91.7 KVRX. Look for Human the Robot on showlist austin, DO512 and around town as we will be setting up and playing impromptu gigs around Austin until the cops shut it down. Human the Robot also intends to squeeze into as many backyards and cramped living rooms as possible.
