About Rökkurro

The success of Rökkurró’s 2010 album Í Annan Heim (produced by Alex Somers of Jónsi fame) was largely unexpected. The album spent over 100 weeks in the Top-30 of the Icelandic charts, while gathering warm words from international media such as NME, Under The Radar, The Guardian, Clash Magazine, KEXP Radio, The Line Of Best Fit, The 405 and CMU Daily. Rökkurró returned in October 2014 with a new studio album Innra, produced by multi-instrumentalist Helgi Hrafn Jónsson. The three year gap between the two albums gave Rökkurró the space to meticulously expand their luscious palette into the beautiful, dreamy soundscapes that is Innra. New members Helga on piano and Skúli on bass have been added to the line-up and time spent by the bands members between Tokyo, London and Reykjavík inspired Rökkurró to record their first part-English speaking record. “Warm, wonderfully textured” – Lauren Down on The Guardian “Graceful and passionate, emotive and poignant” – Gold Flake Paint "Inviting like a thermal spring" - NME “Haunting” – Nothing But Hope And Passsion "High-quality melancholy" – NOISEY "Beautiful orchestral sounds" - KEXP Radio "A musical postcard from a world where, even after a turbulent journey, all landings are soft.” - Kieron Tyler on The Arts Desk We are Rökkurró from Iceland. www.rokkurro.com
