Backseat Love Affair

Formed in January 2011, Backseat Love Affair is a conglomerate of musicians with many years of experience. Guitarist Andrew Fox has been playing for nearly 15 years and currently teaches guitar as his profession. Drummer Anthony Anello is a jazz trained drummer with almost 15 years experience. He and bass player, Mike Notar, played together for 5 years in their teens. Mike Notar has been playing piano for nearly 18 years and bass for 12 years. Singer Ray Van Rye has been singing for many years and is a hidden gem. Once heard, you wont be able to stop listening. Apart, they all listen and prefer different styles of music. But when put together they have a sound all their own. Its an in your face, heavy hitting, energetic, good old rock sound. Andrew likes the sounds from the 80's and 90's and is rock oriented. He is greatly influenced by Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhoads, and many other 80"s guitarists. Anthony is more accustomed to the sounds of Inucubus, 311, Primus, and other bands of that genre. His style is very similar to Jose Pasillas of Incubus in both technique and sound. Mike takes a liking all all genres of music from swing band to rock to metal to punk. His style is a mix of all those sounds with a hint of blues. Ray Van Rye is a more straight forward rock fan. He is similar in sound to that of Chad Kroeger and Chris Daughtry but with a wider range.
