About Proxima Control

In the fall of 2009, guitarists John P. and Matt Z. were sold fake tickets to a Metallica concert. Angered but inspired, the duo founded a metal band themselves. John quickly discovered the talented and like-minded singer Jack Hope and bassist Ben Souder, who had journeyed from Maryland with just a suitcase and a bass to find success in New York. The quartet began with nothing except the clothes on their backs, a few guitars, a drumset, and a garage. Armed with a musical vision, they managed to release of their first demo "Ride These Delusions" in 2011. Proxima Control went on to recruit various drummers, and in March 2012, won recording time at a battle of the bands competition in Brooklyn, which they used to record their second demo, "Inertia Massacre". In mid 2014, the band finally picked up a good friend and fan, Alan Arnedo, as their full time drummer. Having finished tracking their debut album "Back to the Flood" with Brandon Bujnowski of If and Only If productions, the band handed over the tracks to Matt Dalton of 37 Studios in Michigan for mixing and mastering. Proxima Control's debut album, "Back to the Flood", is due for release in June 2014. The first single “Hangman” is available now at proximacontrol.com, and the 2nd single “Den of Freaks” will be released in late February 2015. From beyond the periphery
