Band is fabulous.
Marcus is certainly on top of his game, combined with pushing the solos of his band mates. As an aside, Kudos to his backup female vocalist!!! She deserved her own solo during their performance!
Acoustics and sound system are below par at the College Street venue. Overdue for either sound absorption implementation, or upgraded sound system to offset all the cement!

The Marcus King Band killed at the 25rh Anniversary of The Fillmore in Denver! The band was right and the vibes easy. Marcus shreds on the songs from his recent release Mood Swings. The only criticism I had of that record was lack of King just shredding on some of the melodies. Well he does just that on the live performance. The horn section, Jack on drums, back up vocalist and entire band really play on a high level. I will be seeing him again in Washington DC this fall. Catch this tour, you won't be disappointed!

Excellent show. Such a great musician who just sings with strong emotions and truly enjoys playing. JJ Wild was great and together they sang a beautiful duet. He brought the two bands together for the encore “ The Weight” which was super cool too!! He doesn’t read reviews but I know he made a lot of new fans last night. I almost caught his pick!!

Marcus King was great! As Expected and KNOWN to be!
The venue, however, was not the best as far as acoustics. A lot of "sound bouncing"!
The worst were the ushers who were beyond rude!
It's a freakin casino...Do they want our business? I left immediately after the show but wd have stayed & played had the mood of the ppl working there bn uplifting and full of smiles, instead of downgrading and full of what seemed to be fear of a higher power!
Hell! This was MARCUS KING! Grammy award winner, MARCUS KING! I sure hope he was treated better than the patrons at the venue!
We all sat on hard CHAIRS and paid the acceptable price for a Marcus King concert at a MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE VENUE.
5 stars for Marcus . -2 (Negative 2) stars for the Oaklawn Event Center!

Marcus comped me 2 free tickets to the sold out show when I ran into him at the Rival Sons show at the Filmore. He’s a class act all the way and him and the band never disappoint. Also got to visit with Stephen after the show, awesome bass player and generous with his time! 4th time seeing them and I’m definitely a life long fan and can’t wait to see them again.

Marcus and the band brought it all night! Unfortunately for us ,we were in the 2nd row and couldn't see the concert. There were 2 people in the front row that stood up the entire show blocking our view even when we were standing. Some folks are in their own world with no consideration for others. That aside we at least heard the concert.

Amazing performance! MK got a warm West Virginia welcome- everyone seemed to enjoy the show- there were continual standing ovations, dancing, and lots of hootin and hollerin! All ages having a great time and this venue is a beautiful intimate spot in the park by the river, right in town. Fourth time I’ve seen MK- always a fantastic show!

What a pleasure and a privilege to have been in the Academy last night to see this amazingly talented young man with a superb backing band. This kid has it all in bucketloads and yet has a charmingly understated demeanour. It’s like he doesn’t realise how talented he is and this just adds to his appeal. He can slip with ease from Rock to country to jazz with a dash of soul thrown in. I can’t wait until he visits Dublin again. Tom Fanthom

The band are fantastic, King’s vocals are brilliant and there is no doubting his mastery of the guitar. However that is also where a slight problem stood, he was all too willing to demonstrate his virtuosity at every available moment and after a number of songs this became tedious and quite self indulgent. Unfortunately it detracted away from the rest of the gig as songs didn’t come across the same as on record or the same as my last live Marcus King gig just 3 years ago. Good but just started to get a bit boring after a while, hold back on the solos.

A great night of Southern blues and rock at the O2 Academy in Bristol on Wednesday 22 April 2023. The gig got off to a rousing start with a half-hour set from support act Ida Mae, before Marcus King came on stage with his 7 piece band to play two hours of songs mostly taken from his last two albums, a mixture of soulful blues and hard rock with a bit of country thrown in for good measure. Some numbers were purely instrumental, others developed into expansive jams with two lead guitars duelling it out. There was even a retro drum solo while other band members took a short break before the encores. Marcus King has an amazing voice perfectly suited to his brand of Southern Americana, and he has brought together a band of excellent musicians to create an exciting live act. A packed O2 couldn’t get enough of him.

Marcus King is a one of a kind performer. Outstanding guitar, incredible voice makes for a amazing night. He is only 23, yet his musicianship, artistry, and down home good makes him a must see wherever he is. A definite don’t miss concert. Met him in Macon, GA at the Capricorn Revival concert, very kind and humble, great human being.

The show itself was phenomenal! Marcus King and his Band are some of the most talented out there, by far. The crowd was completely enthralled the entire show! The venue is beautiful, however it was freezing cold inside. Also, the downstairs staff may have all been new because no one seemed to know what was going on. The bartender didn't know what to charge for most drinks and we ended up paying much more downstairs than we did upstairs? The bathrooms were clean, but paper towel rolls being placed all over the ledges of the sinks doesn't seem the most sanitary. Upstairs bathrooms had a much better upkeep, as it seemed there were people in there cleaning every time I went in there. Overall, it was a great experience. I can't say I would ever be interested in standing all day for a concert, but the upgrade to the balcony was absolutely worth it for an amazing band.

It was a HOT night in Felton. Literally and figuratively speaking. As if the tiny, sold out, non a/c’ed venue wasn’t hot enough, Marcus & Co. came out on blaze.
Great 2hr. set drawing from all of the MKB albums, and even a couple covers tossed in for good measure. Looked like it must have been a challenge get’n all that talent and equipment on the tiny stage but the 7 piece band fit like a glove and had plenty of room to move. Set list is added for those who like to compare notes.
Was not my first MKB show, but it seems as if they just get better with time. My birthday was 5/25 couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than an evening with my wife, MLK and 6 of his friends!! 🔥🎸🎶

Best concert since Allman Betts in Santa Fe...this kid is unbelievable. Any aspect of his talent is only multiple by his band and the crowd. Wow. It all I can say. I had great expectations and 3 hours later I could hardly breathe from the joy that was spewing out of me, everyone. Marcus King. Has a place in history. Good job son

meh - wasn't the Marcus King I've seen in the past (Peach Fest). Certainly plenty of energy, but the sound wasn't ideal and too much focus was on the guitar riffing and overblown solos (from the other guitarist). A little disappointing. I wish I chose to attend the March 9th ABB (now Devon Allman) show instead.
Hannah Wicklund was great.

I am familiar with MKB, with good reason! Their third album " Carolina Confessions" is one of the most solid albums of 2018. My best friend and I had an incredible time and most definitely will be back to see other acts.
I had my Cherry popped 3x last night. First time at MMH, and seeing both RockNRollers! Cant wait to see them again! $5 parking, heated smoking area, with food truck accessible right outside. Security was cool but they do search you very well. Mainly looking for weapons and idiots. Everything about last night was 5 stars! Much Love and Respect! MKBeingForLife!!

Marcus King band is no joke. At 22 years young he is on his way to the top. Such an incredibly soulful voice and top notch guitar riffs. The entire band was on, the set was shorter than I think the crowd liked. It's cool to see an opening band come out and get the crowd moving. Great show, definitely need to see these guys.
