GS Duo

The award-winning GS Duo formed in early 2010 during their undergraduate classical music studies. Since then, flutist Angela Galestro and guitarist Jonathan Smith have delighted audiences from around the world with a diverse repertoire of classical, jazz, Latin American, and popular music.

GS Duo has performed for international events and festivals including the National Flute Association, GuitarSarasota, and the Mediterranean Guitar Festival. They were awarded 1st prize at the Southern Guitar Festival in 2014 and a top prize for The American Prize Competition in 2016.

Angela and Jonathan each have Doctorates of Musical Arts from Shenandoah Conservatory, Masters of Music from The University of Akron, and Bachelors of Music from Stetson University. Residing in Sarasota, Florida, the duo continues to collaborate with community organizations such as the Church of the Palms, Sarasota Orchestra, and the Sarasota Music Conservatory while operating their independent record label, Galestro Records.
