About Sour Grapes

Sour Grapes started out around 1993 with Pak Twisted on Drums, Cory Bannister on Guitar and Steph Twisted in Vocals. After two bass player changes (Don Levandier and Derek McKinnon) things settled down with Andrew Gregory on Bass. In 1995, this line-up of the band recorded their first album "Ingrid?". It was recorded live off the floor by Brian Johnson in their jam space above some steel processing plant. This was a cassette only release. Shortly after the album was released the band went through another line up change: Andrew left the band, Pak moved onto the bass and Mike Bourque became the new drummer. In 1997 they recorded their 2nd album entitled "Numb". This album was recorded 3 times but the released version was recorded in the basement of 418 Glencairn Drive by Brian Johnston for a 12 pack and some cash (although we're not sure if we ever paid him). Once again, this was a cassette only release. 1999 saw the release of "227 Minutes of Grape Ole Rock". This was a CD only release which contained the albums "Ingrid?" and "Numb". The difference between this release and the two previous was the lack of the songs "Flameous" and "Just a Thought". This was because they lost the master tape containing these two songs. In December of 1999 Cory left the band and moved to Toronto, Ontario. The band moved forward and in 2002 Matt McCarron filled in on guitar while the band recorded "MCMLXXVI" (aka 1976). Around 2003 Matt left the band to join Heavy Doobie and Dean Clarke joined as the new guitar player. Dean Clarke left the band in 2006 but not before recording a new album "Punk Rock Blues". In December of 2011, Cory rejoined the band on guitar and played a show at the Manhatten in Moncton. Ingrid? was remastered by Kyle MacDonald and released on CD with a previously unreleased version of the song "Why Does She?". The band is still active, although they don't play very often. Expect a show or two a year and maybe a new recording on day. Free full album downloads http://sourgrapes.bandcamp.com
