La Vida Buena ATX

La Vida Buena may look the part, but they are not your typical salsa band from Austin. Sure, they have the usual suspects - piano, congas, and timbales. They could even play your favorite salsa cover. But what happens on stage is much more than that. All the musicians in the group love salsa, in addition to hip-hop, funk, and jazz. Although bandleader Luison guides the general direction and musical choices, each individual is stylistically flexible, using their talents and capabilities to subtly morph and bend the music into multiple genres. However, what sets the band apart is the synergy and fun they transfer from the stage to the audience. Although by no means rich or famous (yet), when they’re making the music they love with their good friends, who is to say they’re not truly living the good life?
