About The Voyageurs
In 2010, Marshall Anderson and Janis Esch parted ways musically and geographically after a two-year stint fronting the Upstate New York alt-country group Visions of Cody. Esch completed her second EP, "Back to the Badlands," while working as half of the Southern California duo the Brushfires. Thereafter, she moved to post-Katrina New Orleans in search of inspiration. Anderson, meanwhile, performed briefly in the New York Finger Lakes region with singer-songwriter Emily Mulkerne and later moved to Southern Illinois to sharpen his lead guitar chops with Carbondale folk-rockers the Bone Dry River Band. Taking their name from the 19th century traders who braved the wild Mississippi River to bring goods to New Orleans, the Voyageurs aspire to capture the feel of America past and present, from the rocky shores of St. Louis to the muddy Delta.
