Sam Studer

It was early 2014 when Sam Studer moved to Nashville with one idea in mind: to create an album that embodied his unique musical vision, an artistic statement that could introduce his sound to the world. Using only his laptop, guitar, and voice, Sam set about creating what would become his debut EP. While his laptop could build the album’s lush electronic arrangements, he teamed up with two-time Grammy winning sound engineer and producer, Casey Wood, to take the music to the next level. Recorded over the course of 2015 in Casey’s Nashville studio, The Insanery, the album slowly came together piece by piece. It soon came time for Sam to choose an artist name for himself. Intending to evoke images of wilderness and freedom from convention, he drew upon the most beloved animal of his childhood — the lion. As for the music itself, the songs live somewhere in the valley between the familiar and the exotic. This is where our eyes are drawn, where our ears perk up. Timberlion's unique music embodies this idea by incorporating fascinating sounds and stirring, memorable melodies. Timberlion above all strives to create a personal musical experience for his listeners, all built around a simple yet poignant mantra: Put on ears, not airs. Put on ears, not airs.
