Ministry

Awesome band, amazing show, great setlist (although one or two more new songs wouldn't have gone amiss (especially instead of the Squirrelly encore, but my partner and I along with heaps of other people were happy to leave early especially after the second band was on for 45 mins, it made it a long night!) The downside was the shitty venue. Almost unbearably hot, you couldn't see the stage unless you were at the front of the pit or the front of the standing area of the blacony, and the staff were unhelpful. Security was inconsistent, my bag was searched with a fine tooth comb whilst my female partner's wasn't even checked at all, sexist much? Also, when we had to take a break to get some air as we were both feeling faint from the scorching heat, we were told if we stepped outside, we wouldn't be allowed back in. We asked for the smoking area and were simply told "upstairs." We went up to the balcony, I squeezed myself and my dissabled partner through the people along the length of the bar to find no smoking area, sqeezed all the way back and went down to ask someone else, who said "upstairs and at the end" so we went up again, squeezed past all the sweaty bodies again to find a whole group of people looking for the smoking area, after asking a 3rd time, we found it hidden down some stairs, (not a single sign to give us a clue) to find a tiny outdoor rammed wall to wall and the best part was that it was covered, so no fresh air for us!!

My friend and I were impressed with Gary Numan, but was mostly there to see Ministry. Ministry is amazing live. Ministry concerts are loud so I highly recommend hearing protection so you can be close enough to feel the bass throughout your body and special concert earplugs can also help to understand the lyrics better too. The venue was nice (could have been slightly larger), it was packed, clean, the staff was friendly. I saw the same show in Sioux Falls in 2023, but Ministry put out a new album recently which they played some songs from their new album at the Minneapolis show in 2024.

Great show, played almost every song from their early days, With Sympathy and Twitch I wanted to see. Excellent lineup, Thrill Kill Kult is always solid and played for about 45 mins, set was mostly from the first 3 albums. Hadn't seen Die Krupps before. High point was definitely the lead singer hitting a giant metal pipe piece of metal for percussion throughout. Would see them again, great bill from start to finish. Excellent venue, sound, volume and acoustics were great.

First up was Die Krupps. Lots of energy, clearly they were having fun, Jurgen worked up a good sweat and gave it his all. Thoroughly enjoyable. Second up was Thrill Kill Kult. Terrible acoustics, lackluster performance. Ministry's show was vibrant and fun, Uncle Al was in touch with the audience. Covered all the songs from the album, plus a couple extras for the encore. The catch? I'm pretty sure he was lip-syncing most, if not all, of the songs.

Ministry & Gary Numan were amazing. Even Front Line Assembly were great, even though I was unfamiliar with their material. Only thing we didn't like were the abundance of a$$holes throughout the crowd. There were lots of awesome people too, just the a$$holes really wanted to outshine them. I rarely get into physical altercations, but I literally had to throw someone on the ground that wouldn't stop jumping on me. As Uncle Al would say...you Goddamn White Trash.

Personally, my friend & I attended for Gary Numan - we weren't familiar with Ministry. Gary delivered! Absolutely mesmerizing - a true rock star through & through! We knew it was Gary's birthday, and like others we occasionally blurted out birthday wishes throughout his set. To make the night even more special was when crew and other band members stopped the show and presented Gary with a birthday cake and the entire room sang Gary Happy Birthday! As this impromptu moment wrapped up, the entire place shouted out "Gary, Gary, Gary..." in unison. Truly a rock & roll event that will go down as a lifelong musical moment & memory for the rest of our days! Super special. Opener Front Line Assembly gained two new fans in us. They really rocked the place with their hard edged, beat pounding numbers - and the audience obviously ate it up with constant applause, dancing and shouts of praise & appreciation. We did stay for a couple of tunes from Ministry who were obviously very tight, but for my friend were just too loud... I thought decibel limitations were in place in the music industry?? The decibel levels reminded me of Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood Tour that left me with ringing ears for 3 weeks and some mild-ish permanent hearing damage... so I left with my friend... I was a bit disappointed but I gave in and we continued on our way into the night. But we had seen our man...our headliner, and that was Gary! Happy birthday, man! Truly a night to remember. 🥳🥳

Great show! Ministry kicked ass as always but it was cool to see Gary Numan and Frontline Assembly. Frontline had some killer visuals for physcidelic concert goers. All these bands are in their later years but they don't play like it. Same energy as 30yrs ago. Get your Ministry shirts early. I waited till end of show to get mine and they were all sold out.

After waiting 30 years to see the Alien experience, I can safely say that it was worth the wait! The new material is relevant and slamming, and of course they included a few of the essential throwbacks! When you have 15 albums to represent, it’s hard to be concise, but they did a swell job in my book, with enough dubby effects to keep the room swirling! Hey Al! Thank you for coming to Eugene!

The venue, layout and staff were top notch, excellent and the show started right on time without delay. FLA was awesome (as usual) with killer projected images, but unfortunately, I thought their mix was a bit too loud without the necessary levels required for separating and articulating the various channels (love their layered synth lines), so the tracks seemed somewhat muddy compared to how I know them to be. Regardless, fantastic performance by Leeb, Fulber & crew! Numan’s mix was slightly softer but with spot on board levels… audio quality was absolutely amazing! His tracks were also very well composed and arranged. The whole set was professionally choreographed and presented… very fluid and sophisticated with superb lighting and visual effects. For 65yrs old, Gary just flat out rocked! Al was, well… just Al being his notoriously captivating and talented self lol You know, his usual loud, proud and in your face aggressive high octane assault that cranks to “13” and stays there the entire set... wildly entertaining, nonetheless. He did nod to Gary’s early influence in his career and brought him out for a Fad Gadget cover as an encore. Well done, Al! Overall, fantastic show, definitely worth the time and price of admission.

They played sooo well, and each member did their best to make it a performance, too. I was on the ropes about going, I'd heard from my dad who's seen them a few times that in the last few years they'd gotten disappointing live. That was not the case at all with this show, probably due to the new lineup. They were loud, but everything was still clear. The stage setup was really cool, too. Opening bands Melvin's and Corrosion of Conformity were sick, and played really well, too

This was a great show. I think it had been 20 years since I saw Ministry last time. I feel like the band and the crowd were a little disappointed with how the show ended. I would suggest they change up their set list. I don’t think a band should ever end with their newest music that not everyone knows as well. Put the new stuff in the front half of the set list. Open with a well known song or two, then go into new music and then finish strong with more well known songs and you will have a great show. The energy really dropped in the encore when they just played new music. Other than that it was a great show overall. Bring earplugs though because it’s a very LOUD show!

The show was in The Rave and was overcrowded, and what was once free seating, first come first serve, is now $150 each VIP seating, leaving those who require seating out of luck. Loud is fine, but in a venue this small, Loud=Distortion, the sound was actually far more pure in the ladies restroom. This wasn’t my first Ministry show by any means, but it was disappointing and will probably be my last.

Show itself was amazing! Almost as good as seeing them in 1996! The Melvins and C.O.C. were great, too! Parking by the Riviera is a pain as always, though. Plan ahead if you can. Most of the staff is friendly, except for the door staff. They were uncoordinated coming in and very rude after the show. Especially one young woman who should really be fired.

It’s was great show. Sound was good and clear. Stage was good with a fence set up for most of the show for crazy slamming old school songs. Last few songs were newer and they removed the fence. Lol. Guess not as rowdy for the new stuff. All in all my first time seeing Ministry and long time fan so it was good.

Ministry sounded awsome for a metal band at Metra. Even Slayer was better than I thought it would sound. Would love to see them again. Old school no frills stage like it used to be at the clubs in the 80's, dark with fog. Ominous feel like it should be. Kids go running home to mommy, no need for you to be here with us "real metal heads".

This show was killer!! Wax Trax! era Ministry - amazing! Great that Al and company were joined by Chris Connelly on stage. The band gave a super powerful performance. Al was in great form and still as entertaining as ever! Was only there for the live performances, regret that I didn't catch the documentary beforehand. Looking forward to watching it after that stellar show. Cold Cave were great too. Really good set and it's always cool to see bands open for the greats that influenced their style to begin with. All in all, a wickedly cool night!

Phenomenal show from on of the most unique bands out there. Al Jourgensen is a survivor in an unforgiving and cynical music industry. Not only has he done it his way for the last 30 years, he has continued to be innovative and relevant without being stereotypically cliche. The setlist was great for any true Ministry fan who has consistently followed the band for the past decades. Highlights included three songs in recognition of 30 years since the release of The Land Of Rape and Honey: the title track, Deity and The Missing. All sounded like they did when I saw Ministry the first time in 1990. However, Al saved the best for last as So What (my personal favorite) closed things out. Ministry proved once again why they are still a force to be reckoned with live. Can’t wait to see what Al will do next!

Alien weaponry was sick, never heard them before but easily my favorite out of the setlist. Carpenter brut had very weird visuals that made it hard to actually jam with the music. And ministrys mosh pit kicked my ass so i guess thats good? Except i ended up throwing up while he was singing "its a nightmare, its a nightmare". Thats just me, so alien weaponry great, carpenter brut kinda shitty but they picked up at the end of their set, and ministry was trippy as hell and i couldnt stick around for it. 3/5

Last minute time change for schedule and no listing to differentiate whether the doors open at eight or the show starts at 8 made us miss all but five songs. most of the shows on tour, even other midweek shows, start at 9 o'clock also. band sounded great, & a look like he was having a great time! Hopefully they'll do it again soon! maybe "c u latour...again."
