Awesome Vibing Concert!! Smokey Gave Us Fans His All And All/ Rocking Singing and Enjoy The Concerts With His Singing and Performance Gave Mr Robinson A Standing Ovation!! Indeed ICON!! Great Performance!!@

What a beautiful and comfortable venue in which to see a show. And what a show it was. The 84-year-old Smokey Robinson looked and sounded great.

The show was EPIC, we really enjoyed the Q&A session. Everyone there were so respectful. Smokey was great and Jimmy Jam was very informative. The people running the show were very courteous. Hopefully we can start back with MEET and GREETS soon.

The show was great Bad venue to Manny ppl Tickets should have been available for those that want to purchase not just for certain ppl every color .

Absolutely wonderful. At 83 he can boogie like a young stud. Lots of fun and the crowd was really loving it. He still has a beautiful voice - amazing.

Smokey Robinson: 10/6/22 “I made my way ‘Crusin’ into Augusta GA for my first ever time seeing Smokey Robinson. The 82 year old Detroit Rock N Roll Hall of famer and Motown Master made his way into town for an evening of music, stories and nostalgia. With 53 charted singles (solo plus The Miracles) just a drop in the bucket in a well of over 4000 songs written, my sense of anticipation was in full gear. Making my way to my seats side stage toward the front (not at all bad seats at for the three quarter full Bell Auditorium), I caught my first glimpse of the stage set-up. The stage was set for a 12 piece band to fill featuring keys - a four string section - saxophone/flute - two female background singer mic’s - drums - guitar - bass - (more) keys. Smokey took the stage qt 7:45 dressed in white jacket, pants and shoes accented by a purple satin shirt, handkerchief, and flower on his lapel. The 1 hr and 34 minute/14 song set included both his solo work as well as The Miracles songs. Robinson showed no signs of slowing down swaying, dancing, twirling, gyrating, even doing the swim, he clearly knows how to captivate an audience. Above all it was his still silky smooth vocals that accentuated the evening’s performance! Opening with 1981’s ‘Being With You’ he sang the chorus in Spanish as a duet with one of his backing singers, Karrie Morales. Segueing into ‘I Second That Emotion’ Smokey called out, ’Oh Yeah, we have got some singers out there this evening. You sounded so good let’s sing another.’ Five songs into the set, the white jacket came off and his boogie came on, ‘We came to have some fun, we came to have a good time, we came to be intimate, to get closer, touch, feel, right now we’re gonna boogie!’ He broke out into an impromptu medley (not on the setlist) of ’The Way You Do The Things You Do’ and ‘Get Ready’. ‘My Girl’ and “Tears Of A Clown’ followed with an informative first hand history lesson on Motown strategically placed in between the two. On ‘I Love Your Face’, perhaps the most intimate performance of the evening, Robinson sang directly to an audience member in the front row calling her by name. Guitarist Robert Bowls who Smokey referred to as ‘Boogie’ (with famous guitar work on songs such as I Will Survive, If I Can’t Have You, Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel and Reunited) showed another side of his skillset with a jazz infused solo on Smokey’s rendition of Sinatra’s ‘Fly Me To The Moon’. On ‘Just To See Her’ Robinson called out to his keyboardist Demetrius during the well known Caribbean drum synth-solo, ‘Go D, go D, go D’! Robinson had way too much fun introducing each member of the band who he referred to as ‘my family’. When it came to the drummer, Tony Lewis held up in prop a pair of 3 foot drum sticks to the screams of the ladies and to Smokey’s bewilderment until he turned toward Tony and busted out laughing, ‘You got a big stick’! Rounding out the evening was a singing competition between the right and left halves of the house. Calling on stage two audience representatives Jamie and Carrie, he asked the one, ‘Jamie do you know what you volunteered for’? Her response, ‘I don’t know, but I’ll do it!’ Well, neither Group 1 or Group 2 were the winners, we all were— singing together in unison, a great way to close out the evening with everyone on their feet. His own words said it all, ‘When you’re on tour there’s certain places you’re looking forward to getting to, we’ve been looking forward to come here man, I can’t even tell you!’ Smokey is the real-deal friends, his is a story of miracles from hood to infamy. He set the bar high at a very young age and established a career that went over the top, a must see for any music lover while he is still on the road.! Review by DAve/photo by Michele. I always give Smokey 5 stars. I do not know if it was my hunch or I sabotaged myself. Which I am so talented at. This concert was more important for personal reasons. Anybody who knows me all of Smokey's concerts are very important to me. From the start I knew there would be problems. I paid quadruple the price. (Long story) I never do that. It wouldn't be so bad but I believe the performer doesn't see the extra charge. I was blocked every which way to get there. It took 6 hours to get there and then the ticket didn't want to download. Of course since I didn't go through ticket master or venue the venue could not look it up. Finally got in to hear his last song. Of course non of this was his fault. I was just glad to see him one more time! I WILL NOT sabotage December's concert!

Smokey still has IT at the age of 82. In a concert that lasted over 1.5 hours, Smokey sang his hits, and hits he wrote for the Temptations and Stevie Wonders. He received numerous standing ovations from the capacity large made up of folks from nine to 90. He told Motown stories. The thrill of a lifetime.

Smokey was awesome! He delighted me from beginning to end! His voice and presence has only improved over time like a fine wine. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet him.

Couldn't believe he just turned 82! I took a video of him grooving all the way down to the floor then coming back up without any help as PT inspo for my father-in-law. #seniorgoals Awesome!

Second time I’ve seen him in the past two years. Incredible. Definitely still got it going on. I did not want the night to end!

This was a bucket list concert. I'm so happy i got to witness Smokey and all his magic. He sounded amazing and worked the crowd!! A true legend❤

Great performance. Did songs he’s never done before live (well at least in the 40 years I’ve been seeing him). Got a chance to talk with him during the “one on one” interview. Truly the living King if R & B!

I love Smokey!! He has been my # 1 motown singer my whole life!!! It was a pleasure and an honor to be onstage last night with him as Captain of Team Toni!!!! SO FUN!

Mannnnnnnnnn he did that from beginning to end. A lot of these new entertainers need to learn a few tips from old school. Sound system perfect. Band perfect..just an awesome show. Now this was a legend to see. I loved him performing songs he wrote for The Temptations. Omg and his dance moves was hilarious. He entertained the crowd well 🙏🏾.

The concert was very good, I love the Motown Sound so the music was excellent. I also love the interaction with the audience. The sound system was excellent . My only issue is I thought the seating would have been arranged a little differently, but all and all I had a good time.

Omg way better than I could have hoped for Smokey Robinson put on an amazing show I shouldn't have expected anything less. That silky voice made the crowd scream. One things for sure Smokey's still got it. Love him

He is a true entertainer! Great show with a mix of oldies and a couple recent tunes. He gave us a little history behind a few of the songs and he is quite the comedian. A must see

He's always good the people around there killed it . We drove a distance to see him and there were people there acting really dumb . Can't wait to see him here in Los Angeles at least people go to see the concert not cause trouble.
