About Young Paris

YOUNG PARIS, aka Milandou Badila, is parading into the industry like a breath of fresh air. He’s been getting a lot of coverage for his unique blend of formulated melodies that vacillate between Hip-Hop, Trap, and African drumbeats. Young Paris totes an origin story that blends cultures from three corners of the world. Born to Congolese parents, his father founded the National Ballet of Congo. This unity played an important role in Congo’s independence in the 1960’s and brought peace to many villages and united them in dance. His mother, a respected play writer and dancer joined his father’s company in Paris after touring with world famous ‘Rose Marie Guiraud’. They later had ten children – one of whom would borrow his stage moniker from the French capital. After performing in a dance group with his siblings in the Congo, and his early upbringings in France, his family settled back in New York where his foundation has since been cemented. YP and his siblings pay tribute to their heritage by donning traditional dress and body-paint, updated for modern impact. They grew up with a very strong traditional outlook on culture, be it the way they eat, perform, and dance, they represent themselves as modern day, unapologetic Africans. Now taking on the task of fusing his palette to create Afro- centric art, the 27-year-old fuses the pulsing sounds of Africa with hip-hop and Electronic Dance Music to bring his own brand of self-love to the world stage. Since crafting his sound with his 2014 project Rap | Electronic, Young Paris was then selected to perform at Arcade Fire’s KANPE KANAVAL, as well as the Parisian leg of the AFROPUNK Festival, which helped open many doors for him. He is now an Artistic Director, Music Producer and Song Writer who has worked with Grammy award winning producers and musicians from all over the world. Young Paris has also been featured in TEDx, XXL Mag, Pigeons & Planes, The Fader, BET, VFiles, & All Hip Hop, in addition to VOGUE, & VMagazine. In June, he dropped his acclaimed full-length mixtape, African Vogue, through The FADER, and recently released new visuals for his singles “Get Ready, featuring Hip-Hop legend M1 from Dead Prez, and Best of Me,” featuring Grammy nominated producer Benjamin Bronfman. Young Paris’ latest accomplishment finds him as a signee to the Jay-Z’s entertainment brand, Roc Nation. This move solidifies his mission to bring his international vibes to the mainstream. Tying in his roots with the times, Young Paris is ready to introduce his wave of socially conscious lyricism over Afrobeat rhythms blended with Pop, Trap, or EDM. Young Paris & MELANIN. As a multitalented innovator, Young Paris is not just limited to music. He is also the founder MELANIN— a company designed to encourage all peoples of color to share and embrace their excellence and highlight the beauty of their skin. With this mission in mind, he founded the very popular hashtag series #MelaninMonday, which celebrates the global beauty of melanin through powerful visuals and educational content. MELANIN also includes a line of merchandise, as well as Melinated.com -- a website for people of color that is set to launch at the end of August, 2016. YP has plans to evolve the brand even further by introducing a Music Record Label, Modeling Agency, Fitness Center and Event Establishment. Based in NYC and born in France to Congolese parents, Young Paris is re‐ defining EDM with his combination of Afrobeats. website: www.youngparis.tv
