Trip to Dover

Trip to Dover is an alternative indie electro duo from the Netherlands that makes driving, melodic songs with elements of rock, 80’s synthpop and DJ-style electronics. The band was formed in Brighton (UK) by vocalist/guitarist Olga and synth-player Johannes, who moved there after deciding their careers in architecture and politics were not what they were after. From there they self-released two EP’s. In 2014 Trip to Dover released their third EP, written in the aftermath of their return to Holland due to the loss of three close family members to cancer. Titled Kiss Fight Dance it stands for ways to cope with tragedy and life in general. The single Lifelong Lovesong was aired on Dutch national radio (3FM) and got quite some airplay on regional and alternative radio worldwide. It was in the Dutch independent chart for almost 10 weeks with #2 being the highest position after being awarded indie disc of the week. Live shows have always been the band's passion and the core of their development. Trip to Dover tours regularly throughout Europe, embarked on a USA Tour and took part in two important festivals for up and coming bands in Holland: Popronde & Grote Prijs van Nederland. 2015 looks like another great year for the band: After an extensive Release Tour in winter and spring,Trip to Dover will be playing over 20 festivals this summer in Holland, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
