Shramana

Shramana began in 2009 as a simple punk rock band with the goal of self improvement. After several re-imaginings, line-ups, and sound variations, Shramana has been described as a hardcore band, a grunge band, a sludge-metal band, and most recently, a post-metal band. Echoing contemporary metal stylings of Isis and Neurosis Shramana colors these sounds with black metal and hardcore influences and hopes to push the envelope of heavy music with sparse and dark yet melodically beautiful constructions while maintaining an aggressive hardcore attack. Heavy, mournful lamentations of a world determined to kill its mother.
