About Joscho Stephan

German Jazz Guitarist & Educator

Joscho Stephan is one of the most exciting figures in the acoustic guitar scene. Known for his masterful guitar technique, Joscho has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of the genre, blending the classic swing style of Django Reinhardt with a modern approach. Joscho has released several live albums that capture the vibrant energy of his concert performances. His successful YouTube channel, with nearly 40 million views, culminates in the best-of album “Playlist”, which exclusively features recordings from the channel.

Joscho has played sold-out concerts across Germany and performed at renowned festivals such as the Leverkusen Jazz Days and the Rheingau Music Festival. Internationally, he regularly tours Italy, Poland, and Spain, and is planning an extensive tour that will include both the USA and Australia.
Throughout his career, Joscho Stephan has collaborated with iconic artists such as Bireli Lagrène, Stochelo Rosenberg, Tommy Emmanuel, Daniel Hope, Peter Kraus, and guitarists Richard Smith and Rory Hoffman in the Transatlantic Guitar Trio. A notable highlight was his participation as the only European guitarist in the prestigious "George Benson Camp," alongside Al Di Meola, Steve Lukather, and Tommy Emmanuel. Joscho also performed with Frank Vignola and John Jorgenson at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club in New York, where they played a total of eight shows – a significant milestone in his international career.

In addition to his concert career, Joscho is passionate about teaching the art of Gypsy Jazz guitar.
