About Drop The 4

Post-Funk pioneers Ladies Drink Free have recently been making a name for themselves throughout the east coast. From their consistent, unforgettable live performances, the group has been able to generate a true grassroots following since their 2012 inception. This fan-based momentum, along with their 2013 Sit Down, Doggy EP, propelled them into a string of notable performances including Webster Hall, the Great South Bay Music Festival, and a northeast tour.

Between November and December of 2015, Ladies Drink Free expanded their following in new territory by traveling across the furthest reaches of New York, Vermont, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania during their Weekend Warriors Tour. Prior to this winter tour, the band was able to raise over $3,000 through online crowd funding towards the completion of their first LP. Now, in 2016, the band has finally released their highly-anticipated debut album, simply titled Ladies Drink Free. This record captures the versatility of the band's collective style as well as the individual prowess of each member.

When asked to describe the band's sound, drummer Robby Deitz considers it a musical gumbo - a blend of gritty funk, modern pop, sultry R&B, arena rock, and world rhythms that creates a bold sound laced with subtle nuances. This has made the group able to strike mainstream appeal while exploring new ideas through genre-pushing compositions and improvisation. Their desire to break new musical ground in writing and live performance has led the band to identify their eclectic sound as Post-Funk.

Armed with a passion for their craft, a clear vision for their future, and a disciplined approach to self-management and promotion, Ladies Drink Free continues to gain notoriety as a massive musical force that can deliver in any situation.
