About Sweet HayaH

“What matters is the energy that flows through us and carries onto the crowd or pours out of the records and individual songs we put out. What matters is the intention, the emotions, the authenticity of the messages, the exchange with the listeners.”

Sweet HayaH is well-established as one of the most popular Original artists in the SF Bay Area making them the ideal festival band, as well as the life of any party. In addition to the founding members Nehal Abuelata (Lead Vocals/Keyboard) & Devin Moreno (Guitar/Vocals), the line-up now also includes powerhouse Drummer Kosuke Okamura, flyin' Trombone player Ryosuke Sakurai, and sweet and low Bassist Austin Geiger. The band’s resume boasts a myriad of festivals, as well as opening and supporting shows for impressive and legendary artists such as Robbie Krieger of the Doors, Roddy Radiation of the Specials, The Selecter, The Slackers, The English Beat and more... In 2017 Sweet HayaH played in front of 6,000 people at San Jose Music in the Park, opening for world-renowned soul-man Brenton Wood.

Starting in 2019, lead vocalist Nehal, drummer Kosuke and Trombonist Ryo became part of the Golden State Warriors' House band The Bay Blue Notes. Nehal has had the privilege of performing at the Warriors' Pre-Season Halftime show, which coincided with the NBA team's very FIRST public game at the Chase Center Stadium in front of 18,000 Basketball fans.

Their fan base now extends well beyond the Bay Area in across more musical genres than they ever imagined possible. Sweet HayaH has played extensively along the Pacific Northwest and all along the California coastline, and has toured cross-country to Georgia, Florida, New Mexico, and Texas - including 4 South by Southwest (SXSW) showcases in 2015.

The band has had success making not only studio albums, but has also released multiple vibrant music videos. In March 2018, their video for the song “Backwards” was released, produced by May Yam, and was well received by fans Worldwide. The band and May Yam previously worked together on a short film called “Headwind”, which featured Sweet HayaH performances. Sweet HayaH has produced an extensive and continuous body of high-quality original work in a short period of time, and loves to give new life to the work they choose to cover. They have been building an exponential momentum over the years and melting hearts everywhere they perform...and the band is only getting started! Life just gets sweeter and sweeter when you sprinkle some HayaH on it!
