Martha Tilston is a singer-songwriter, formerly of acoustic duo Mouse, and currently based in Brighton, England.
She is the daughter of acclaimed songwriter Steve Tilston, and has been writing songs from an early age. Her solo debut, 'Rolling', was self released in 2003, and 'Bimbling' followed in 2004. The following year she assembled The Woods, who include members of Semble, to record her free downloadable album 'Ropeswing'. 2006 saw a full UK tour and the release of the album 'Of Milkmaids And Architects'.
Spring, 2008 brought an Australian tour.

It was the first time I had seen Martha, and her voice was beautiful. I really enjoyed most of her songs, too. I think the sound where we were sat (to the side) was probably not as good as for the main body of the hall, because it was difficult to hear what was said when either Martha or her support act were speaking - includng his name (Nathan??). The support act was a bit chaotic.

As always Martha Tilston delighted me with her beautiful voice , story telling and personality. This is a volunteer led community space run really well. It created what was an intimate experience and of course I will look forward to the next opportunity to see Martha and her talented band play.
