About Abadden
Abadden from Dunstable are an unsigned UK Thrash Metal Band Ready to thrash you back to the 1980's but keep it fresh with the modern sound of today. This band has come from Strength to Strength from the moment they recorded at Stakeout Studios (London) in the summer of 2008, with the self release Single Atomic Devastation. Tearing up the local scenes and ready to take on the rest of the UK. Steve Beebee from KERRANG! Magazine Reviewed the band at their hometown show and gave a blinding review, We knew that only good things could come... And they have! In June 2009 ABADDEN won a competition run by Rising Records and Metal Hammer offering them the chance to record an album with Producer Mark Daghorn (Cradle of Filth, Mendeed, Trigger The Bloodshed) and have released their debut album 'Sentenced To Death' on Rising Records through Plastichead Distribution. 'Sentenced To Death' has been tearing up the ears of the industry and within the first month received nothing but critically acclaimed reviews from the UK and European press being compared to as the 'next big thing' in the UK Thrash scene. 'With their... rapid-fire riffs and drums, Abadden clearly have the ingredients of a great thrash band.' - Kerrang, 4/5 'Headbanging fuel of the highest octane' - Metalhammer 7/10 Having completed their first UK tour with Rising Records band 'Sworn Amongst'(April16th -May 28th 2010) Abadden have sold quite a respectable amount of Cd's and T-shirts via online stores (HMV, Play, Tesco etc... to the extent of selling out of stock on Amazon.co.uk) In March 2011 the band played their biggest show yet. They had the chance to play on the Jagermeister endorsed Thrash Lords stage at Hammerfest III. Sharing the festival with acts such as Satyricon, Accept, Entombed, Onslaught, Sylosis, Evile, Gama Bomb and many more. March also saw the band supporting the likes of Lazarus A.D and Bonded by Blood at the Islington Academy London on their European Tour as well as Supporting Gama Bomb at the Camden Underworld London and The Face Bar in Reading on their UK Tour. Things were only getting better as the band got their first opportunity to play in Europe! A new Thrash band by the name of Nuclear Torment invited the band to come over to Sweden to play a couple of shows with them. One of the shows was supporting the great FKU! Shortly after this the band received an invitation to go and play a festival in Ukraine by the name of "Metal heads Mission" which big acts such as Vomitory and Kataklysm. The band accepted the invitiation and got to play to their biggest crowd yet! which was around 2000 people. The year of 2011 was coming to and end but there was one more big show for them to play to wrap up an intense and amazing year. They supported Thrash Metal Band Warbringer at the Student Union in High Wycombe. After 2 years of hard work promoting their debut album "Sentenced To Death" the band felt that it was time to start writing new material for a second album. The band would continue to play shows during the course of 2012 and write material but the band faced some problems which the didn't foresee. Dan (Guitar/ Vocals) unfortunately broke his finger which meant he wasn't able to play guitar at all for a matter of months. Which meant the band had to cancel all of the shows they already booked and they had to pause on the writing of material. Next, another unexpected turn occurred. John Blunt (Bass guitar) felt that he had finally come to the end of the road and said that he was leaving the band for personal reasons. Now the band had an injured Guitar player and no Bassist. Things weren't looking good for the band and a lot of people started to wonder what the future was going to hold for Abadden. The remaining members of the band met up and decided on a plan of action. They would look for a replacement Bass paler whilst Dan's finger was recovering. In no time at all the band found a new Bass Player by the name of Liam (Chubbs) Greene. Chubbs had played in many different local bands throughout the years and had also been a fan of Abadden. Dan had just started playing guitar again even though he wasn't 100% he could still play with the band. The band invited Chubbs to come and jam some songs with them to which Chubbs accepted. As soon as they played the first song together they all knew that they wanted Chubbs to be the new bassist of Abadden. His aggressive and technical ability really made the songs sound fresh with a new edge. Now going towards the end of 2012 the band have been writing and working hard on their second studio album. A lot of new things have been brought to the table and we feel this is the best material we have written so far. We are currently preparing the guide tracks and we will start recording in the 2nd/3rd week of January! So keep your eyes peeled! We have also been announced to play Hammerfest V this year! with acts such as Sodom, Destruction, Hatebreed and many more! We will also be taking bookings now to start playing from March onwards If you would like to book the band please send an email to the following people below: Tony.blackwoodbooking@hotmail.com dan.pool@live.co.uk We would like to thank each and every person who has supported this band throughout the years. Watch out, 2013 is going to see a lot of big things happening!! Abadden's Second Album to released in the upcoming months BRACE YOURSELVES!!!!!
