Words from TJ: Musical culture and its structure has been instilled in me since I started playing violin in kindergarten. Ever since then, my passion for music has grown tremendously throughout the years and developed into my first love. My father introduced me to percussion in the 3rd grade. I played drums from then on in multiple rock bands and produced mostly drum tracks for fellow producers. Musically, I see myself as very diverse. I currently listen to bands that range from Mayday Parade, Four Years Strong, 311 etc... to artists like Dom Kennedy, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar and other relatable M.C.’s out today. As a kid, another interest of mine included skateboarding and snowboarding. I skateboarded nearly every day and snowboarded every season. My passion for action sports and music allowed me to intertwine and create a connection between the two cultures at a very early age. I'm still an avid skateboarder and snowboarder and I try to get on my skateboard everyday even if it's just to cruise around the city. It serves as a therapeutic outlet for me even with my heavy involvement in music because surprisingly, there are times where even music can be overwhelming so it’s something I can do to maintain balance. One of my main goals in life is to broaden everyone’s taste in music. I believe music is one of the most interesting things in life and it shouldn't be scrutinized.
