A Universe Within

A Universe Within is a progressive/experimental outfit based out of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Established in 2010, the group has released three studio albums to date including The Chosen (2010), Nemesis (2013), and Cloud Chamber (2014). The group is comprised of Alex Conner on Vocals, Buddy Harlow on Guitar, JJ Stickley on Guitar, Adam Austin on Bass, and Travis Smith on Drums, all of whom are highly trained in classical theory and performance. With a strong songwriting and recording history, as well as a healthy tour regimen throughout the Mid-Atlantic, A Universe Within has consistently provided a unique and quality experience in both their recordings and live performances over the past five years. Having performed in settings ranging from large scale clubs to basements, the group has gained humbling, yet motivating experience in the art of live performance. Additionally, as all members are avid recording enthusiasts, they understand the necessity of thorough and quality recording development and production. To simply summarize A Universe Within's true vision, the listeners and audience are the focus. All of the material released by the band is 100% free to stream, download, and distribute. Additionally, the band often performs for free or very little compensation for travel. The end goal is not about attaining fame or a certain status, but providing a unique and enjoyable end-user experience without monetary incentive or recognition. A Universe Within only cares about the music and the listening audience, nothing else. The band is currently writing and recording their fourth studio album that is expected late 2015/early 2016.
