The Artifice

The Artifice are a Metal four-piece from Berne, Switzerland. Their music can be described as a masterful blend of Thrash and Death Metal that does not necessarily shy away from experimenting here and there. Primarily, however, the band's music gets heads banging. The band is comprised of musicians with various backgrounds: Christian (drums) is an eclectic and proficient musician involved in several other projects of different genres, Florian (bass) is a technically impressive player with a master's degree in Jazz performance, Leandro (guitar) is mostly self-taught with a passion for Rock and Metal guitar and Mike (vocals) provides the coarse and energetic frontman presence for the band, as well as the engineering, mixing and mastering tasks for the recording sessions. The band's lyrics mostly tackle social and political themes of injustice, abuse of power, pollution and war, but also delve into stories of depravation and insanity. One may argue that such themes are "classics", when it comes to metal lyrics. Providing you with a sore neck since 2005.
