Alexander was born and raised in Belfast but has now made West London his adopted home. His songs are reflections and observations on youth, fear, curiosity, hedonism and heartache. In 2009 he started 'Songs From A Room' (Sofarsounds.com) as a way for his music to be heard live, unplugged in one of the most intimate settings possible - living rooms. These unique shows have turned into a global movement and occur monthly in the secret setting of packed living rooms worldwide. The Sofar movement has regular shows in London Paris, New York, L.A., Mumbai, Sydney and beyond. Despite only playing his first gig last year, and still yet to release a record, he has managed to sell out London headline shows at The Barfly, Notting Hill Arts Club and Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen in the last 12 months. He has just finished playing a monthly residency at Ronnie Scott's throughout the summer of 2012 along with The Station Sessions and Hop Farm Festival. He has been working on a forthcoming EP with producer Charlie Francis (REM, Noisettes, Turin Breaks) this summer and his song 'When We Were Young' has been picked by Henri Lloyd in an online ad campaign for their latest menswear range.
