Virginia Ground hails from the Birthplace of Country Music in the hills of Bristol, VA/TN and categorizes their sound in one word; Appalachiaphonic. It's a funky melodic marriage rooted in soul, blues, bluegrass, reggae, country, Dixieland, jazz, rock, Americana, swing and more. When Jamen Denton's fountain-esque songwriting, silky vocals and sultry guitar riffs collide with his ensemble of inventive musicians; Jon McGlocklin singing harmony vocals, Logan Fritz on bass and vocals, Kirk Bagnall on drums, Ben Smith on harmonica and Will Outlaw on trombone, they create a sound that is infectiously novel yet hauntingly familiar.
