Van Gordon Martin

Veteran guitarist, songwriter + multi instrumentalist producer from uptown Chicago Il, based in Boston for the last 15+ years.

Van has broken the mold, pushing forward an incredibly creative + diverse guitar style. Combining the sound of his Blues + Rock roots, with the soundscapes of Dub Music, Free Jazz + Roots Reggae. Van has found a unique voice of his own in the guitar world. The ever-present musical chameleon, Van weaves in + out of different styles effortlessly. Fitting in every formation of the music, + bringing a heartfelt spiritual voice to the stage.

VGM has fronted his own live band since 2012 with three full-length releases + two national tour campaigns. In 2014 with The Skatalites + in 2017 headlining in support of “Let It Grow”. 2019 VGM toured supporting Steel Pulse + Toots + the Maytals, playing multiple sold out shows in New England. With his 2019 single release “Life is One” Van is poised for an LP release + extensive touring in 2020. Van Gordon Martin is full time member of Organically Good Trio, Dub Apocalypse, Big Daddy Kanes’s live band, Mighty Mystic, Club D’elf + many more.
