DJ CRYPT // SNOWGOONS DJS // FAMOUS DECK TEAM Dj Crypt nennt sich der in Stuttgart lebende Thomas Grehl. Sein Style-Repertoire erstreckt sich von Hip Hop über Funk & Soul zu allem was wie 'ne Bombe einschlägt. Das ergibt, kombiniert mit feinsten Scratches auf höchstem Niveau, ein Soundangebot erster Güte und ließ schon so manches Kinn vor Begeisterung gen Boden gleiten. Ein Grund für seine immer partytauglichen Sounds ist mit Sicherheit sein eigener Hang zum musikalischen Überschwang: Crypt ist eine absolut erfahrene Partysau und weiß daher immer, was er auch dem müdesten Publikum um die Ohren hauen muss, um es zum Kochen zu bringen. Auf der anderen Seite ist er sich seiner Verantwortung als Dj gegenüber seinem Publikum bewusst und strebt bei jeder Gelegenheit die perfekte Show an. Dieses Verantwortungsbewusstsein, eben nur Soundmenus erster Klasse aufzutischen, steht ihm bei jedem Auftritt ins Gesicht geschrieben. Seinen ersten Kontakt mit der Hip-Hop-Szene hatte Crypt allerdings nicht durch das Auflegen, sondern durch das Malen. Begeistert durch die Berliner Maler Rew, Fok, Chaos & Odem begann er 1996 eigene „Bilder“ zu entwerfen. 1999 lernte er dann seine zweite große Liebe, das Auflegen, und das damit verbundene Entertainen kennen. Wie in einem Rosamunde Pilcher-Roman war es Liebe auf den ersten Blick und hält bis heute an. Mit der Zeit intensivierte Crypt sein Engagement und besuchte unzählige Events, Jams und Parties in ganz Deutschland, stets auf der Suche nach der perfekten Party. Dieser Perfektionismus trug auch bald in seiner persönlichen Diskographie Früchte: DJ Crypt kann sich mittlerweile Auftritte in Österreich, der Schweiz,Tschechien, Frankreich, der Slowakei und Holland auf seine Fahne schreiben und veröffentlichte bisher unzählige Mixtapes. Unter anderem arbeitete er dabei mit Hip-Hop-Größen wie Funkdoobiest (L.A./USA) zusammen, mit denen er 2005 durch Europa tourte. Seit 2014 ist er Teil der wöchentlichen Sendung "SNOWGOONS RADIO SHOW" auf www.bmradio.de. Inspired by the works of DJ Revolution, Craze and Mirko Machine, his style covers a wide range of musical tastes including hip hop, soul, funk, and breakbeat, basically anything that rocks. Mixing it up with some dank nasty scratches at the highest level you get a wicked sound which makes you move. One reason for his party suited sound is definitely his first hand knowledge of the party music scene. Crypt is frequently the life of the party and knows how to spice it up, quickly transforming the lamest audience into a rip-roaring dance hall. On the other hand, Crypt is totally conscious of his responsibility as a DJ to produce quality sounds, and aims for the perfect show at every opportunity. Only at a live performance can you witness his sense dedication as he dishes up a first class sound. Menu, sprinkling each track with some of his renowned scratching style. Originally, Crypt got into the hip hop scene, not by playing records, but by writing. Inspired by the Berlin painters Rew, Fok, Chaos & Odem he began to sketch own styles in the year 1996. Finally, in 1999 he fell into his second passion, playing records, and entertaining as well. As in a Rosamunde-Pilcher novel it was love at first sight and Crypt has been spinning ever since. Over the years, Crypt intensified his commitment to the art of DJ'ing and visited numerous events, jam sessions, and parties all over Germany, always in search to create the perfect party. This perfectionism soon yielded the fruit of his personal discography: In the meantime DJ Crypt has accomplished performances in Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, The Czech Republic and Holland and has published six mix tapes so far. Amongst others, he cooperated with hip hop giants such as Funkdoobiest (L.A./USA), with whom he was touring Europe in 2005. He is currently rippin the DJ Set on shows for MARS MC (Suedwestwind) ... one of the best Hip Hop MC's down south of Germany.
