About Leo Abrahams

Over the past 14 years, at the same time as being a guitarist-for-hire (for artists including Imogen Heap, David Holmes and Roxy Music), string arranger (Starsailor, Ed Harcourt, Alele Diane) and film composer (The Lovely Bones, Hunger), I was making my own records in a variety of styles. "Honeytrap" and "The Grape & The Grain" (Just Music) are collections of folky, acoustic instrumentals; "Scene Memory" (Bip-Hop) is an ambient exploration of electric guitar textures and treatments; The Unrest Cure (Mercury) features some of my friends and colleagues as guest singers - including Brian Eno, Ed Harcourt and KT Tunstall. But I always preferred collaboration with others to doing my own thing, so I eventually became a producer/co-writer, and made records with Carl Barat, Chris Difford, Brett Anderson and Paolo Nutini, as well as bands including Frightened Rabbit and Kill It Kid. I had given up touring by this point too, although when i was invited to join the re-formed Pulp last year, there was no way I could pass it up! There wasn't much time anymore to think about my own material. But every once in a while a song would bubble up, insisting on being written and recorded - which I would do at home. Zero Sum is the result: a few songs I made purely for myself, but which I'd now like to share. The official Leo Abrahams Facebook page, run and updated by Solar Management, Leo's management company. 'Like' us here to keep updated on new projects and recordings, as well as news of Leo's solo material.
