About Rockford

The members of Rockford originally met working at a factory making fake fur wiring harnesses for the construction of robot dogs. This was expected to be the the next big thing in the early 90’s. These four guys were known as "the best in the industry". Ultimately robot dogs never caught on as expected, so the fake fur robot dog wiring harness factory closed down. From there the members of Rockford had a rough couple decades. Through the 90’s and early 2000’s almost nobody cared about robot dogs. The guys drifted from town to town trying to make their skills fit the needs of the budding robot cat industry and even building a few robot humans. Then around 2012 an underground demand for robot dogs suddenly hit the radar of the collective consciousness. By this time Jon, Ed, Marty & Jeff had spread across the country. Fortunately, through the painstaking work of a team of private investigators the boys were located and enticed back to the original robot dog wiring harness facility where they use to ply their trade. Now modernized with state of the art soldering irons the boys of Rockford work daily to make sure if you want a robot dog you’ll have a robot dog. Translation: They use to make records in the early 90’s in indy bands few people heard of. Where are they now? Still unknown but with a lot of years playing together they can deliver a Creedence wall of live sound with nods to Eno, Neil Young, Dream Syndicate and Tom Verlaine. They rehearse in the back of a pawn shop located on one of those historic main streets you find around California. Rockford plays original rock songs built of two guitars bass and drums. Rockford's first album “Experiments in Electricity and Light” is out and can be found at www.coffeepressrecords.com Rockford plays the occasional show. Amplified music built of two guitars, bass and drums.
