My son loves Nirvana so we took him and a friend to see Dead Original (who is the group’s band that also performs as Smells Like Nirvana) and they were great!

About Dead Original
Dead Original is a grunge infused trio from Chicago, IL started by Paul Wandtke whom got his start in the music industry drumming for the Grammy nominated metal band Trivium and the world famous hit musical 'Rock of Ages'. Feeling inspired to pick up a guitar, he now fronts Dead Original with Benny “Boomba” Piazza on drums and Mike Petrasek on bass.
Dead Original is a blend of grunge, groove power, simple riffs, melodic hooks and some progressive elements. Their motto is 'less is more'; to play their music w/ real instruments and not relying on the use of any backing tracks live, an old school philosophy.
Dead Original uses Mesa Boogie amps, Intune Guitar Picks, Daddario, Planet Waves, Evans drum heads, Vic Firth drum sticks, Tama drums, Meinl cymbals, Humes and Burg Cases
