About Kim Sheehy

Kim Sheehy is an Australian singer/songwriter, best known for her appearances in the fifth season of the Australian version of The Voice. A prominent member of Team Delta, Kim was dubbed the season’s “comeback queen” and received multiple rave reviews. After having not turned a chair in Season 2, she returned to the competition a professional and graceful contender in 2016, placing in the top 12 of the singing competition. Not one to do things conventionally in life or in music, Kim pushes the boundaries between singing and storytelling. Her skills are varied and impressive and include rocking out on a loop pedal and jumping between instruments, whilst creating a sound that falls pleasantly upon the ears. Her songs seamlessly transition from emotionally driven balads, to tender and optimistic melodies. Whatever Kim sings, be it her own composition or someone else's; she has a voice that will immediately draw your attention and stop you in your tracks. Born into a musically talented family, Kim picked up more than just dust from running around bare foot at her parent’s band rehearsals. She grew up in the small Northern New South Wales town of Maclean, listening to bands like Credence Clearwater Revival, Fleetwood Mac and The Divinyls. With the old classics pumping their way through her blood, Kim found a passion for anything and everything music, and this was just the beginning. After high school Kim relocated to the Gold Coast to pursue her music career. She graduated with a Bachelor of Popular Music from the Queensland Conservatorium in 2009 and then dedicated herself to recording her debut EP titled ‘Neighbours and Highways’. Kim’s commitment and talent saw her not only write and independently fund the EP, she also played a major role in the recording and production process. She then turned her mind to teaching, and as a result, tooka six year hiatus from performing her original music. But,the itch has returned and Kim knows it is time to put her experience into practice get back in the studio. Kim is currently working on the production of exciting new material to be released in the near future. As the narrator of her musical journey, Kim intends to guide her listeners through personal and heartfelt tales of her life, love and ambition with irresistible authenticity. Listening to Kim in the recording studio, or in one of her stunning live performances you will be wrapped you up in nostalgia as Kim’s voice commands your attention. Whether performing solo, or backed up by her band, Kim’s technical skill as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, along with her ability to evoke emotion, will leave you wanting to more.
