About B.Slade

B. SLADE™ has released several hundred songs on over 30 albums over a span of 20 years, while producing several others for both gospel and secular artists. He has won 7 Stellar Awards, a GMA Award, and received 3 Grammy nominations: one for Best Soul Gospel Album for his 2004 gold album, Out The Box , another in 2009 for Best Urban/Soul Alternative Performance for his single, "Blend", from his 2009 mainstream album, "Unspoken", and a 3rd in 2014 for his writing and co-production on
Angie Fisher's debut hit single, "I.R.S.", which received a nomination for "Best Traditional R&B performance.
His musical efforts have been known to blend a smorgasbord of styles, including pop, r&b, jazz, soul, funk, hip hop, rock, latin, electro, punk and trance, and has created a distinct sound and eclectic style of music.

After releasing the "Dawn Of The UNiCORN Mixtape" in July of 2010, he quickly folowed up with a double album, released in 2 separate volumes within 1 month of each other.
"A Brilliant Catastrophe (alpha)" (a sequel to his jazz album, "The London Letters") was released on October 1st, 2010, his late father's birthday. Its companion piece, "A Brilliant Catastrophe (beta)" was released that
Thanksgiving Day. From there, he released albums and compilations at breakneck speed, all the while writing and producing for other artists and further extending his catalogue.

He produced the songs for the hit Paramount TV Show "One on One", "Off We Go" (featured on Sony Pictures'
J-Lo/Ben Affleck film "Gigli"), HBO Films' "Prison Song" starring Q-Tip and Mary J. Blige, and produced a song for the BET Films original movie "The Walk". His track "The Good Song 2005" was included on the soundtrack of the movie "XXX: State Of The Union" starring Ice Cube. Scoring the music for the 2012 NAACP Image Awards, he has also penned the theme song and incidental music for the OWN Network TV Series "Flex & Shanice", starring husband and wife Flex Alexander and Shanice Wilson,
as well as writing and co-producing Shanice's songs which appeared on the series, "Gotta Blame Me" and "We Can Fly", which also features B.Slade on co-lead vocals. B.Slade later directed (with Logan Alexander) and choreographed the music video for "Gotta Blame Me".

B.Slade's first starring role in a motion picture is slated for September 2014 in the film "Anything For Wifey", directed by KJ Anderson.

B.Slade is also a highly sought-after songwriter and producer for artists such as Chaka Khan, Sheila E., Faith Evans, Elijah Blake and Angie Fisher, for which he wrote and co-produced her debut smash hit single, "I.R.S.". The song was instantly a runaway hit upon debut on Stevie Wonder's L.A.-based radio station KJLH, before going nationwide and debuting on the Billboard R&B Charts shortly thereafter. "I.R.S." was recently nominated for "Best Traditional R&B Performance", garnering Ms. Fisher her first Grammy nod upon her debut as well as garnering B.Slade his 3rd Grammy nomination of his career thus far.
