About Staff Party
Staff Party was formed in Brighton in early 2020 by Ed Lamb (Guitar/Vocals), and JP Townsend (Drums), later joined by Chazz Welfare (Bass). They play their own brand of finely calibrated, frenetic, and loud as hell Noise Rock. Expect thick walls of noisy guitar; tense throat shredding vocals; pounding, virtuosic drums; and muscular, powerful bass. Staff Party's songwriting is as much inspired by 90's/00's Noise Rock and Post Hardcore acts such as Shellac, Melvins, The Jesus Lizard, At the Drive-In, and Unsane, as it is by Grunge and Alternative Rock titans The Smashing Pumpkins, Dinosaur Jr., and Stone Temple Pilots.
Staff Party's debut EP 'Dread' was releseed in April 2023, and received national radio play on BBC Radio 1, Kerrang, Planet Rock, and Total Rock.
Potentially one of Brighton's loudest live bands - if they get their way. They have recently supported USA Nails, Ohhms, and New Pagans.
